Missionary Action Group
As an active Bible based church we give a  high priority to supporting Mission at home and overseas. Those who are serving God as missionaries need our support in prayer or finance or both.
PRAYERS: We regularly hold prayer meetings twice a month to bring before God the needs of the missionaries whom we are supporting. Normally this takes place on the first Saturday of the month starting with breakfast at 7.30 am and followed by prayer from 8.00 am to 9.00 am. 
FINANCES: A tenth of our general income is designated towards this ministry.
Those supported by Christ Church include:

Sonya Taylor (Self Supporting), a member of Christ Church, working primarily in South Africa and currently undertaking a degree correspondence course with Regent College, Vancouver in order to facilitate her teaching and preaching gifts.
  • Dr. Rachel Karrach, a member of Christ Church, has been working as a G.P. in Tansen Hospital, Nepal with Interserve for a number of years. She has a position of considerable responsibility as Hospital Director, caring for the needs of the Nepali people.
  • Mike and Anne Domoney, members of Christ Church, regularly use our link church a Benatky, Czech Republic as a mission base to facilitate reaching churches, hospices, seminaries, secular schools and colleagues. They also take an annual mission to the remote Shetland Isles.
LESTER01.JPG (70747 bytes) Steve and Debbie McClure working with Navigators at Southampton University, Debbie is now an Occupational Therapist and Steve has recently given up secular employment to work full-time with Navigators.
  • Mike and Rachael Hill (and their 3 children Eleanor, Abigail and James) with Overseas Missionary Fellowship (OMF) in Cambodia since April 2001. They are presently engaged in cross-denominational Bible projects and Sunday School training programmes and resources.
  • Hope For Children, Latvia is a charitable trust set up to relieve the plight of street children in Riga, who are either orphans of whose parents are unable to look after them.
  • Church's Ministry Among Jewish People (CMJ) set up many years ago with a desire to fulfill the Apostle Paul's concern for the Jews referred to in Romans 10.

Martin and Susie Goodchild (Self Supporting), members of Christ Church, working with Youth With A Mission (YWAM) and Reach The Unreached (RTU). They are working together encouraging leaders, particularly in the Kenyan Church.
  • Church Pastoral Aid Society (CPAS) a missionary agency with its roots in the evangelical Anglican Church. Their ministry reaches out to people of all ages to bring them to a living faith in Christ and to grow in discipleship.
  • Evangelical Alliance - an evangelical Christian body dedicated to spreading the gospel and speaking with one voice on current issues.
  • The Bible Society (formerly the British and Foreign Bible Society), who engage in the translation and distribution of Bibles in many languages.
  • Scripture Union, providing literature for Sunday Schools and activity holidays for young people. Andy Houghton, and member of Christ Church, heads up West Runton Activity Holidays run by S.U.
  • St. Luke's Hospital for Clergy, provides free medical treatment for Anglican clergy and their spouses, also for missionaries.
